"As
to any exercises which might help you, until the time of your
initiation, I can only suggest at this time that you may sit in
meditation, in a quiet place, like your own bedroom or some room as
secluded as possible, and with spine and body erect, in a comfortable
position, fix all the attention at the center just back of the two eyes,
and slowly repeat the word RADHASWAMI, fixing the mind on the Supreme
Being who is your Supreme Father." (Hazur Baba Sawan Singh)
Sawan Singh On Hearing the Sound Current During Meditation, the Audible Life-Stream of the Godhead
"The
Current is within us always. We could not live without the Current. The
Current is Life. The Sound is going on within, without interruptions,
and so is the Light within. Why do we not see the Light and hear the
Sound? The reason is that our mind is shaking. Our attention wanders.
One does not see the reflection of his face in agitated water. The
moment the water is still, the face becomes visible. If the water is
muddy, the mud brings in an additional disturbing factor. So, purity of
mind and calmness are the prerequisites to see what lies inside the
Focus.
"The
Sounds of the Current at the various regions have been mentioned as
resembling the sounds of material instruments like the bell, guitar, and
so forth, but in reality there is no comparison. To give you an idea in
the best way that it can be given, one has to resort to that with which
you are already familiar. The unknown is explained in terms of the
known. Guitar and so forth are the nearest approaches of sounds known to
us here in this world, to give some idea of the sounds of the Current
heard at the different regions within. These lights and sounds are the
characteristics of those regions, and any soul that goes within must see
and hear the lights and sounds characteristic of the regions through
which it is passing. The Current is continuous from Sach Khand downward,
but it produces different Sounds in different regions, just as if you
strike your stick against a wall, wood, stone, or metal, it produces
different kinds of sounds.
"The
Bell Sound that pulls or attracts like a magnet commences from the
eight-petalled lotus. The tables are turned now. The attention that had
found it so difficult to go within, now finds it difficult to stay out.
To talk of the joys of staying within is the privilege of a different
set of people. Only he can appreciate this state who has gone within --
in the Eye Focus."

A Sant Mat Satsang Podcast: An Introduction to the Teachings of Sant Kirpal Singh
For
those spiritual seekers desiring to be introduced to an advanced school
of mysticism and spirituality like Sant Mat, the numerous writings of
Sant Kirpal Singh that have been published in English will be extremely
helpful.
The
photo is courtesy of Sant Bani Books ("The Coming Spiritual
Revolution"). Quotes used during this introductory satsang program are
from various non-copyrighted books of Master Kirpal, mostly from Ruhani
Satsang, and can be found available for free online at the
RuhaniSatsangUSA and RuhaniSatsangINDIA websites.
Kirpal
Singh was a spiritual master, prolific writer, publishing scores of
books over the years, quoting from most every world scripture, mystic,
poet, philosopher, and great master that has ever existed spanning the
centuries, very much embodying this same curiosity and inclusive
universal spirituality we find present in the teachings of the masters
of each generation, of each century.
Standing at the Crossroads of Time
"As
there are landmarks on earth, so there are landmarks in Time. The past
and future are like sealed books to us: the one is in the limbo of
oblivion, while the other is in the womb of uncertainty. It is only the
LIVING PRESENT that is ours, and we must make the best use of it, ere it
slips away through the fingers and is lost forever. Human birth is a
great privilege and offers us a golden opportunity. It is for us to make
or mar the same, for it is given to each individual to forge his or her
own destiny as best he may.” (Kirpal Singh)
"Human
birth is the highest rung of all creation. It is really a rare blessing
which you have got. This has been given to you for attaining Divine
Realization and spiritual Perfection. It is a supreme opportunity for
striving and obtaining a sublime experience of All-Consciousness. It is
to be utilised for this great purpose. The various religions and faiths
are so many methods evolved for fulfilling this great purpose of human
life. This is the one common basis of all religions. You have been put
on the way and given a conscious contact with God-Power residing within
you. You have to develop it by regular practice from day to day. To
attain this Goal purify your nature by living a good life. Manifest
truth, purity, love, selflessness and righteousness in your life and
activity. Give up all hatred, eradicate egoism and anger. Eschew
violence, pledge yourself to love, sincerity, humility, forgiveness and
non-violence. Abandon war. Abandon lust for Power. Fill thy heart with
compassion, mercy and universal love. Let the Law of Love prevail
amongst you, which should be radiated to all nations and races. Let true
religion of heart be the ruling factor of your lives. Love God, Love
all, serve all and have respect for all as God is immanent in every
form. Preach the Gospel of Oneness. Spread the message of Oneness and
live a life of Oneness. There will be peace on earth. This is the
mission of my life and I pray it may be fulfilled." (Kirpal Singh)

The Vegetarianism of Jesus and the Hebrew Christians -- Spiritual Awakening Radio with James Bean

“James, the brother of the Lord, lived on seeds and plants and touched neither meat nor wine.” (Epistulae ad Faustum XXII, 3)
“James,
the brother of the Lord was holy from his mother's womb; and he drank
no wine nor strong drink, nor did he eat flesh.” (Hegesippus, quoted in
The Church History of Eusebius, book 2, chapter 23)
"James
was a vegetarian." (Robert Eisenman, James the Just, The Key to
Unlocking the Secrets of Early Christianity and the Dead Sea Scrolls)
Peter
said, “I live on olives and bread, to which I rarely only add
vegetables.” (Clementine Homilies 12,6; also see, Recognitions 7,6)
“And
happiness is found in the practice of virtue. Accordingly, the Apostle
Matthew partook of seeds, and nuts, hard-shelled fruits, and vegetables,
without flesh.” (Clement of Alexandria, The Instructor, Book 2, Chapter
1)
“John never ate meat.” (Church historian Hegesipp according to Eusebius, History of the Church II 2: 3)
John
the Baptist Didn't Eat Bugs -- It Was Carob (Locust) Beans and Carob
Bean Flour: "John the Baptist belonged to a group of ascetics who
believed in repentance and in leading an austere lifestyle. The carob
bean was seen as the diet of the lower class who normally endured
hardship and exploitation from the priestly class. So we can conclude
that JTB ate (locust plant) seed from the carob tree." http://wiki.answers.com/Q/Why_did_john_the_baptist_eat_locusts_and_wild_honey
“The
consumption of animal flesh was unknown up until the great flood. But
since the great flood, we have had animal flesh stuffed into our mouths.
Jesus, the Christ, who appeared when the time was fulfilled, again
joined the end to the beginning, so that we are now no longer allowed to
eat animal flesh.” (pro-vegetarian early church father Hieronymus)
Stopping
Animal Sacrifice in the Jewish Temple -- Meet the Vegetarian Jesus --
Christianity Before Paul, His Meat-eating Roman Converts and Greek
Manuscript Editors
The
Euro-Roman converts to Paul's version of Christianity of course were
generally pro-meat and mostly remained unacquainted with the original
group, "the Faith once delivered to the Saints" (Christianity Before
Paul) -- the original Jesus movement consisting of the family of Yeshua,
disciples and first followers. Like the Essenes, one of the main
branches of Judaism in antiquity, Jesus, his family, and the original
followers were also vegetarians and opposed to all sacrifice of animals
in the Jewish temple.
Vegetarian
Sayings of Jesus from the Syriac Aramaic version of the New Testament
Gospels along with the Gospel of the Hebrews and the Gospel of the
Ebionites (Hebrew for "the Poor" mentioned in the Book of Acts):
“Be
on guard, so that your hearts do not become heavy with the eating of
flesh and with the intoxication of wine and with the anxiety of the
world, and that day come upon you suddenly; for as a snare it will come
upon all who dwell upon the surface of the earth.” (saying of Jesus,
Luke 21: 34, from Evangelion Da-Mepharreshe, the Old Syriac-Aramaic
Manuscript of the New Testament Gospels)
"Woe
to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You are like
whitewashed tombs, which look beautiful on the outside but on the
inside are full of the bones of the dead and everything unclean."
(saying of Jesus, Gospel of Matthew)
"I
am come to do away with sacrifices, and if you cease not sacrificing,
the wrath of God will not cease from you." (saying of Jesus in the
Gospel of the Hebrews)
"When
it was almost time for the Jewish Passover, Jesus went up to Jerusalem.
In the Temple courts he found men selling cattle, sheep and doves and
others sitting at tables exchanging money. So he made a whip out of
cords and drove all from the Temple, both sheep and cattle; he scattered
the coins of the money changers and overturned their tables. To those
who sold doves he said: 'Get out of here.' (John 2: 13-16)
According
to the Gospel of the Ebionites, Jesus also rejected the Passover meal:
"Where wilt Thou that we prepare for Thee to eat the Passover?" To which
he replied: "I have no desire to eat the flesh of this Paschal Lamb
with you."
Happy World VEGAN Day 2016 Everyone!
I just recorded a new program exploring the veganism of: Pythagoras and
the Pythagoreans, the Orphics, Essenes, Ebionites, Jesus, John the
Baptist, several Apostles (Matthew, Peter, James, John, Paul), early
Christianity, and the Valentinians, making use of many ancient texts,
including the Clementine Homilies. Listeners will also be able to
request free copies of my articles on this subject, which are always
quite popular, as many feel liberated after discovering some amazing
vegetarian sayings of Jesus and others in antiquity, inspiring them to
become vegetarian or vegan, freeing them from the oppressive pro-meat
Sunday School notions they grew up with. I share many of the same views
as the writer/speaker Keith Akers, who has been a guest before on SMTV,
and I mention his research during this program.
"As
long as man continues to be the ruthless destroyer of lower living
beings he will never know health or peace. For as long as men massacre
animals, they will kill each other. Indeed, he who sows the seed of
murder and pain cannot reap joy and love." (Pythagoras)
