Kirpal Singh: "Not Organisation of Power Which Imprisons"

Kirpal Singh: "Not Organisation of Power Which Imprisons"

"Learn to offer all your work unto God and grow in humility. Such bands of worshippers are needed for the service of mankind. What is needed is not numbers but 'quality' and 'character'of the workers.

"I want group Satsangs of individuals who become centers of life, the new life of the Spirit and not organisation of power which imprisions the fundamental values and stifles the living inspiration."

(Kirpal Singh, Spiritual Elixir, Volume Two, 1967)

Seva - Selfless Service

Seva - Selfless Service

"What's the use of receiving this human form if we do not serve others in thought, word, and deed. If we hold our thoughts only on worldly material things and refuse to think of that which is higher and more subtle, then our faith in the transcendental will inevitably diminish." ("Quintessence of Yoga: Secret of All Success", Published by Maharshi Mehi Ashram)

Sant Mat Quote of the Day:
{"The affairs of the world will go on forever.
Do not delay the practice of meditation." -- Milarepa}

True Satsang

True Satsang (Spiritual Gathering or Association ['Sang'] Focused on the Eternal Truth - God ['Sat'])

Sant Mat Quote of the Day:
{"The affairs of the world will go on forever.
Do not delay the practice of meditation." -- Milarepa}

A true aspirant listens with rapt attention whereas a mere spectator keeps building castles in his own mind.

It is because of this fact that I often say that satsang should be limited only to true seekers.

From satsang you gain the power of discrimination by which you can make your present life joyful and future life happy.

Satsang is neither a spectacle nor a fair, but these selfish mahatmas and the so-called devotees have made it so. The importance of satsang can never be overemphasized provided there is one who can give satsang and one
who aspires for it. But, today there are only a few who understand the value of satsang.

Peace: Salam, ShalOM, OM Shanti - Sant Mat Quote of the Day

Peace: Salam, ShalOM, OM Shanti

Sant Mat Quote of the Day:
{"The affairs of the world will go on forever.
Do not delay the practice of meditation." -- Milarepa}

"Through inner meditation the jivatman (individual soul) begins its ascent toward the Soundless State where it will eventually merge with the Divine. When the soul thus experiences oneness with God, it will attain ultimate peace and supreme joy. Sant Mat teaches a path to the attainment of this joy and peace. This is the significance of the way of the Saints and the importance of Santmat." (Swami Sant Sevi Ji Maharaj, Harmony of All Religions)

Maharshi Mehi:

1. Stillness or steadiness is the essence of Shanti [Peace, Tranquility, Bliss, Communion with God].

2. He who has attained Shanti is a saint.

3. Sant Mat encompasses the thoughts and way of saints.

4. The desire for attaining Shanti is natural in human beings.

In the Upanishads the formula for the attainment of Shanti is expounded by the seers and saints of these ancient works. Similar views have been expressed by the saints of all times, including such saints as Guru Nanak Sahab and Kabir Sahab who expounded their views in the Punjabi and Hindi languages respectively. Such expressions are for the inspiration and edification of all people. (The Philosophy of Liberation)

"The souls are all bound by illusions and are rotating round the great wheel of birth and death. This state of the individual soul or souls is the root cause of all sufferings. In order to come out of these, the only remedy is devotion to God." (Padavali of Maharshi Mehi)

"Such is the peculiar efficacy of the Path of Love and Devotion that if you adopt it, it will transport you to the Reservoir of Ambrosia. In the Source or Fountain, i.e., in Radhaswami Dham [the Eighth Heaven], there is absolutely no trace of maya [illusion]. There it is all love and love alone. It is an immense Reservoir of Love, having no beginning and no end." (Sar Bachan Poetry, Volume One, Agra)

Daya Bai: "My heart burns, O Ram [God], with the fire of separation; I yearn to behold You, O lovely enchanter of my heart."

"True bliss of meeting the Beloved Lord is such that its rapturous absorption does not diminish or wear out. There is continual intoxication of the Holy Name and nectar." (Huzur Maharaj Rai Saligram, "Nij Updesh")

Anurag Sagar: "Whenever you are in trouble, sit down for doing simran (repetition of the holy names). When you reach the state of concentration, then you are surrounded by a protective aura automatically. No power on earth can harm you then. Therefore, do simran and be anxiety-free."

Sant Ravidas: "My (inner) tongue is constantly preoccupied with repeating God's Name, and my hands are constantly engaged in doing my work. Thus have I become carefree. God will take care of me, says Ravidas."

Sant Dariya Sahib of Bihar: "Be not intimidated by any fear. Hold fast to the Naam (the Positive Power of inner Light and Sound of God) which is always there to help."

Kabir said, "Manifest the Guru in the form of the Sound Current behind the eyes [at the third eye center]. Then you will have no doubts left. If you want to be free from anxiety, then catch the Sound Current."

"There is nothing more important than meditation. Increase this practice from day to day; never decrease it." --- Baba Jaimal Singh

"Do not live even a single day without inner meditation." --- Baba Devi Sahab

"Always keep your mind in simran. It will purify the mind. When pure it will be able to hear the inner Sound (Shabd Dhun)." - Baba Jaimal Singh

Inner Seeing and Hearing: "Just as we need light and sound in the outer universe, we need light and sound in the inner universe, too." - Swami Sant Sevi Ji Maharaj

Shah Niaz, Sufi Saint: "The whole world is reverberating with Sound. To listen to It thou must unseal thine inner ears, then shalt thou hear an Unending Music, and that shall lead thee beyond the confines of death."

Seek Only That Which Is Immortal

Like a swan, oh soul, separate the milk from water,
and live in perpetual ecstasy.
Understand the method, and focus your attention at the eye center
so as to merge your soul in the Music Divine.
Renouncing the attractions of food and drink, sleep and sloth,
listen to the Tale of the Beyond.
If you lose this golden opportunity, you will continue to wander
through the Four Grand Divisions of Creation.
Oh friend, pay attention to the command of the Guru,
practice what He has taught you.
Invert your senses and control all desires, discipline the mind;
only then can you rise within and listen to the Unstruck Music.
There this blissful enchantment is continually resounding within,
why remain indifferent to it?
This is the Sacred Message given to you by Radhasoami --
the gracious Master -- through this sacred hymn.

-- Swami Ji Maharaj

The Way Out is IN

The Way Out is IN

Sant Mat Quote of the Day:
{"The affairs of the world will go on forever.
Do not delay the practice of meditation." -- Milarepa}

Guru Nanak: "We speak without tongue, we see without eyes, we hear without ears, we walk without feet, and we work without hands."

"What your own eyes cannot see, your human ears do not hear, your physical hands can not touch, and what is inconceivable to the human mind -- that I will give to you!" -- Yeshua, Gospel of Thomas

Kabir: "A man without feet runs everywhere, without eyes sees the world."

Within this earthen vessel are bowers and groves, and within it is the Creator: Within this vessel are the seven oceans and the unnumbered stars. The touchstone and the jewel-appraiser are within; And within this vessel the Eternal soundeth, and the spring wells up. Kabir says: "Listen to me, my Friend! My Beloved Lord is within."

"Without going out of my door I can know all things on earth. Without looking out of my window I can know the ways of heaven." - Tao Te Ching

One Humanity -- Sant Mat Quote of the Day: 9-11

One Humanity

Sant Mat Quote of the Day:

Thomas Jefferson Read the Quran (not burned it) - Pass It On:

"Recognize the whole human race as one." -- Guru Gobind Singh

"Forget caste, recognize one light in all." (Guru Nanak)

"Truth is high, higher still is truthful living." (Guru Nanak)

"Practice truth, contentment and kindness; this is the most excellent way of life." -- Guru Arjun Dev

Rumi: "Come out of the circle of time, and into the circle of love."

"For Him all humanity is but a family of God. All beings , wheresoever, are pearls scattered far and wide, like so many beads on the string of love. All differences of caste, color and creed become dust and ashes when the Fire-of-God is lit in the human heart." (Darshan Singh, The Cry of the Soul)

Our Reason to Be Here:
"We are the pearls of the shoreless ocean,
Sometimes the waves and sometimes the sea,
We came into the world for this purpose --
That we might show God to His creatures."
-- Kamal, one of Kabir's sons

Sant Mat Quote of the Day: August 23rd

Sant Mat Quote of the Day: August 23rd

"Unfortunate events, though potentially a source of anger and despair, have equal potential to be a source of spiritual growth." (Dalai Lama)

"Sant Mat is a pure spiritual tradition. The teachings of Santmat integrate Devotion [Bhakti] of God with inner Subtle Knowledge [Gnosis] and Yoga disciplines. It has been spoken about by many Saints." (Swami Sant Sevi Ji Maharaj)

Guru Nanak says the True Guru unites us with God, gives us a Godward Focus: "That preceptor is worthy who unites the aspirant with God."

Sant Namdev: "You have blessed me with Your overflowing love within." (The Shri Namdev Gatha)

"Such is the nature of devotion [bhakti], O brother, when devotion appears, then vanity disappears. True devotion is far from thee, sayeth Ravidas. It is the highly fortunate ones who attain it. Give up egotism, efface the distinction of 'mine' and 'thine', and be humble and discriminating like a little ant. Then alone shalt thou be able to pick up and eat the sweet grains of sugar (spirituality) out of the dirt of the world." (Vani of Sant Ravidas)

Sant Ravidas: "So long as inner experiences are not realized, learning and reasoning are of no avail. Learn the letter of wisdom under the discipline of the Satguru, then enter into the meditation of Sahaj." YouTube: Hymn of Sant Ravidas:

"This is a boundless hemisphere, unfathomable and endless. Rarely, through proper technique, can someone cross it. It is known only to the connoisseur Satguru, and to those to whom he reveals it. Gems, diamonds and all the Light are shown by him close by. It is only an intoxicated devotee, a lover of the Saint, who will practice such a discipline of the Sound Current, says Dariya." (Shabd of Sant Dariya Sahib of Bihar)

"Only the connoisseur, who will test the Shabda, and listen to the Teachings with full attention, and within whom these Teachings will dwell, only he will understand this. He within whom the Sun of Knowledge will manifest and remove the darkness of attachment -- only he will understand this. I am telling you this Anurag Sagar (Ocean of Love) -- only rare saints will understand." (Anurag Sagar of Dharamdas)

Simran: "He who utters the Name of God while walking, gets the merit of a sacrifice at every step. Blessed is his body. It is itself a place of pilgrimage. He who utters the Name of God without ceasing receives liberation while living." (Sant Tukarama, "Mysticism In India", by R.D. Ranade, SUNY Press)

"Carry on the repetition [simran] of the true names, taking it to be your very life-breath." (Sant Dariya Sahib)

"Meditation will remove all your burdens; meditation upon Ram's [God's] name will become your support." (Guru Kabir)

"I wish you all health and happiness, but keep uppermost in your mind Bhajan, Dhyan, and devotion to the Supreme Being. The Grace of God on you is the same, as it was before. Attune yourself to the Will of the Lord. Renouncing all thoughts of the past and future, keep your spirit immersed in Shabd at the time of Bhajan." (from a Letter of Soami Ji Maharaj)

"In all higher regions, Heaven's Music is the spiritual food." ("The Way Out is IN", by Swami Ram Bihari Lal)

Sant Mat Quote of the Day - and New Satsang Videos Added

Sant Mat Quote of the Day:

Videos of Swami Bhagirath Baba
giving satsang talks at the Maharshi Mehi Ashram
at Kuppaghat, in Bhagalpur, Bihar, India:

Swami Bhagirath Baba: "Sants/yogis have fixed times of meditation. Those times are: 1) in the pre-dawn, i.e. three hours before sun rise, 2) after taking a bath during the day [mid day], and 3) during the evening (after the sun sets). Meditation done in these three time is called Trayakaal Sandhyaa (thrice-daily meditation). A practitioner must sit for meditation in these three times, and also should do Maanas Jap (repeating the Guru-instructed mantra), or Maanas Dhyaan (involving mind in visualizing Guru's form inside), while doing worldly work. In the evening just before going to bed, the practitioner should sit in meditation for two to four minutes and then go to sleep. A practitioner can continue Maanas Jap or Maanas Dhyaan or keep his/her vision straight inside with closed eyes laying in bed. This practice protects one from terrible, unpleasant dreams, and on the other hand the practitioner can be benefited with the appearance of sages/sants or Satsang in the dream state. The appearance (seeing) of sants/sages in the dream state is an indication of spiritual-upwardness (progress)."

"This mysterious path is described in the holy books, but it cannot be found simply by the study of sacred texts. It is found by the grace and guidance of an accomplished teacher." (Swami Sant Sevi Ji Maharaj)

"Peace comes to this agitated mind. Sorrow has gone, and joy arrives instead to reign. All fears of life and death depart, through the perfect teachings of the Saint. All doubt departs. We live fearlessly, and all afflictions of the mind are resolved." (Adi Granth)

Kabir: "More than all else do I cherish at heart that love which makes me to live a limitless life in this world. It is like the lotus, which lives in the water and blooms in the water: yet the water cannot touch its petals, they open beyond its reach."

"There is no other refuge but Thy Name. By the love of the Name, this form is made beautiful." (Adi Granth)

"Celestial Music is heard in the house that is blessed: In that fortunate home where the Lord's power is manifested, there rings the Melody Divine." (Adi Granth)

My eyes got fixed at the central point between the two eyebrows [third eye center]. The Light of God appears within and darkness of the night vanishes. The Sun, with its extraordinary rays, ascends with so many sparkles. Consciousness finally gets immersed in the Quintessential Word. Baba Sahib tells Mehi to remain absorbed day and night in such applications. (Padavali of Maharshi Mehi)

"Those who enshrine the Beloved in their hearts have both worlds at their command. Lovers remain completely intoxicated in the ecstasy of their love for the Beloved. They offer their souls to the Beloved while still living, and thus immortalize themselves in this life and in the hereafter." (Hazrat Sultan Bahu, Sufi Master)

"Learn the right technique from a Satguru (true teacher, Sant Satguru), walk within yourself, and rid yourself of all the worries, all the stresses, strains, all sorrows by meeting and merging with the Supreme Soul." (Swami Sant Sevi Ji Maharaj)

"Do not live even a single day without inner meditation." (Baba Devi Sahab)
