Nullifying Karma and Lower Influences Through the Positive Power -- Saints Show Us the Way Out, By Sawan Singh

Nullifying Karma and Lower Influences Through the Positive Power -- Saints Show Us the Way Out

The escape from karma lies in the protection afforded by Saints. They are themselves karmaless. Their actions are not binding on them, for their spirits work from Daswandwar, a center above the three spheres of mind and forms, as stated above. The Saints show us the way out.

They say, let new actions be performed in the Name of the Master, the individual working in the capacity of an agent only. The new actions, done in this spirit, will not be binding. The fate actions will have been undergone by the time the life comes to an end; the reserve actions Saints partly take upon themselves and partly are undergone by the devotee, as the Saints think proper.

Saints put the individual spirit in touch with the Sound Current, and as the spirit catches It and rises up, it throws off the influences of mind and matter, and gets stronger and stronger. The more the individual works on these lines, the easier the Path for him. Otherwise the course becomes lengthy; but the Saints are pledged to see him through, after they have initiated a soul. The practice of Sound Current cuts the rest of karma.

The Current acts like a magnet on the spirit. It attracts the spirit to Itself, and if the spirit were not covered by the rust of mind and matter, it would go up like a shot. The rust of attachments and impressions is removed by Repetition (Simran). The repetition of thoughts of the journey within replaces our everyday thoughts. Then the mind, instead of wandering outside, begins to take rest and peace within; and when it goes in, the spirit also goes with it; and when the spirit is in, the Current in its turn pulls it up. Once Trikuti has been crossed (this will only be when all karmic accounts are settled), the soul never goes back into transmigration. It will go up to merge in its origin. Amount of Time Required For the Inward Journey of the Soul -- Sar Updesh Radhasoami

Amount of Time Required For the Inward Journey of the Soul

Question: What amount of time will it take for a practitioner (abhyasi) of Inner Light and Sound Meditation (Surat Shabd Yoga) to secure access to the Higher Regions?

Answer: No time limit can be prescribed for it. One is said to have secured access to Higher Regions if one enjoys bliss internally and hears the Shabd (Inner Sound) clearly. But the attainment of this state depends upon the keenness of one's longing and yearning. It takes ten to twelve or fifteen years to acquire worldly learning and knowledge, and even then one does not gain mastery over the subject one studies. Fifteen to twenty years are taken in learning the ways of the world. In the same way, time will be required for giving up worldly habits and adopting pious and religious ones. But in spirituality (parmarth), if the love and renunciation of a practitioner (abhyasi) are keen and strong, and he (or she) devotes enough time to the daily meditation practice and satsang, and gives very little time to worldly matters or wranglings, then, in a short time, say, four or five years, one  will be able to achieve at least this much -- that they will have full faith in the greatness of Sant Mat [the teachings of the Masters] and will internally secure so much bliss and contentment that no doubt will be left in the mind about eventual true redemption. One will get bliss in daily meditation (abhyas) proportionately to the time devoted and the attention that one pays to it. One will continue this practice easily and lovingly, and will be able to curb the mind and senses to some extent. Then one will be able to know how much time will be required to have access to a certain region, and will gradually get the necessary strength to make endeavours for as much progress as one desires.

The Spiritual Experience One Has In The Beginning Is Not Enough

"The spiritual experience one may have in the practices of Simran, Dhyan and Bhajan in the beginning should not be taken as full and complete. Rather, one should remain hopeful of getting more and more of internal realization. If one has no internal realization at all, then it is book knowledge. It is knowledge theoretical, but not realization; such a one is given to learning but not devoted to practices. As one makes headway in the meditation practices, one will go on having ever-new experiences. It is with a definite purpose that the whole of the Secrets have not been revealed in the Banis. As one advances internally, the Secrets will unfold themselves to one automatically, stage by stage. A partial realization is not enough. One should always remain hopeful of getting more and more realization." (Maharaj Saheb, "Discourses")

This Will Help You

"Be simple. Be dedicated in doing your work. Believe in Sat Purush (God). Pay attention to your actions and beware of karma. Do whatever is good for society. Be the purest form of a human being. Just think purely, act purely, and love purely ..... everyone, anyone. This will help you come closer to God. By attaining this purity you will give a place to God, and the Sound Current will reside within you." (Anonymous)
