The Beginning of Spiritual Practice: Simran, the Repetition of Sacred Divine Names, by Baba Ram Singh (Sant Mat)

The Beginning of Spiritual Practice: Simran, the Repetition of Sacred Divine Names, by Baba Ram Singh

Simran: Repetition of names or thoughts; in Sant Mat, the simran [remembrance] of worldly thoughts is controlled through the Simran of the Five Charged Names, repeated by an initiate throughout the day and when sitting for meditation as a means of collecting the thought currents at the Third Eye Center; also used as a password of sorts to higher planes and protection from Negative Power influences. (from the 2023 Sant Mat Glossary of terms)

Baba Ram Singh: We should make good use of our time... All the Saints have sung praises of Simran, and it is very important that we perfect our Simran. Because as long as we are not able to perfect our Simran, the rest of our Path doesn't open up.

We should try to perfect our Simran all the time. We should always be at it. When we are walking or doing other things, when we are sitting idle, we should try to focus on our Simran and perfect our Simran. Because we get a lot of time like that, which is otherwise wasted. So, we should try to perfect Simran at that time.

When you continuously do your Simran, initially, we do Simran with our tongue. But as we perfect our Simran, and it becomes a very regular activity — our mind starts doing that Simran. Then the mind continuously does the Simran.

When we attain that state — where the mind is doing the Simran — then our Path opens up, and we see that we are withdrawing within.

So, we should focus while doing our meditation. We should focus on our Simran. If we are not able to get the contemplation of our Master, it doesn't matter. You should focus on all the Words of the Simran and pay attention to the Simran and keep doing that.

We should not worry that we are not getting the contemplation of our Master. We must realize that the Master is always within us. In the form of the Holy Sound Current, He is always with us — from the time that our Master has initiated us. He is not far away. Only we need the purity of our mind and our contemplation. When we, with our Simran, develop that purity of contemplation, purity of our mind, He is not far away. He will immediately be visible to us. Without Satsang, Maya (Illusion) Does Not Release

Without Satsang, Maya (Illusion) Does Not Release

In the world of spiritual paths we have many examples of moral talks or people cobbling together some sort of spiritual presentation of religious information. In Sant Mat however, a genuine spiritual master cuts through the illusion and has the goal of presenting satsang discourses. These solely address the eternal divine truths and realities. The goal is always to motivate the initiates, the disciple satsangis to follow the meditation practice and make spiritual progress during this life. These discourses always have much depth, are mindful of the long tradition of Sants in India, and test positive for Sant Mat content.

"If we listen to Satsang, Satsang bears its colors. There is great power in Satsang. If we listen to Satsang with love and affection, then many of our sins are cut. Our load becomes light. Our sins fall away. Satsang is a very lofty thing. But after listening to Satsang, act on it, meditate on it first. Think about it. And keep it within. Then see how much change comes within you. Your conduct, thoughts, behavior, all will change. One will become a human-divine being. One will become a human Mahatma. They say, brother, that Satsang is no small thing that the Sants speak of. They are telling the matter of their own experience. They say, in our heart, when there is samskara, then in the hearts of such devotees Satsang strikes. And he will act on it. And his being is transformed." (Baba Ram Singh)

The satsang discourses of Baba Ram Singh are always wonderful and test positive for the depths of Sant Mat spirituality. Below is excerpted from a recently translated satsang from Scott Gaul's very fine seva project to make available in English more of Baba Ram Singh's satsang discourses via his Radhaswami Talks blog, which I highly recommend. See the link to the entire satsang below.

An excerpt from a recent satsang titled, Without Satsang, Maya Does Not Release

What can be read and spoken, that is called akshar (letters). But the Sants say, the Naam which the Sants and Mahatmas give is not contained in these letters. It is not within the fifty-two letters of the alphabet, not within the seven crore mantras. So a doubt can arise in us: when it is not letters at all, then how do the Sants give it? Because on the day of Naamdaan, they say, first the Simran of the five names is given, and that too is made of letters. That too can be written, read, spoken; that too is perishable. But when the Guru seats us in Dhyan, going within, between the two eyes, here is the seat of our soul and mind. And that very Shabd is also there, the Shabd which has come from Satlok Sachkhand and rests here. They say, the Guru, going within, joins our soul to the Shabd. And that is what Naamdaan is.

They say, on the day the Guru joins us to the Shabd, He comes to sit within us in the form of Shabd. And from that day the Guru is always with us. Between the two eyes, in the tenth door. That is why, they say, the Sants say: brother, by doing Simran and Bhajan, leave the nine doors and come to the tenth. When your third eye opens, that Naam will manifest, that is, the Shabd will manifest. The Shabd to which the Guru has joined you, which is called Anhad Shabd. There are many kinds of Shabd. There are also Shabds of the lower six chakras, which are called Das Vidh Naad (the ten kinds of sound). These are of twenty kinds. And above the eyes, that is called Anhad Naad.

They say, on attaining which, the mind becomes a little contented. The mind gets a respite to become still. That, they say, is the Anhad Shabd. And after that comes the Sar Shabd. They say, the Sar Shabd, in Parbrahm is the Sar Shabd. And in Satlok Sachkhand is the Sat Shabd. So the Shabd of every region is different. So on the day of Naamdaan, the Guru joins our soul to the Sar Shabd. But at first, when our soul goes within, it is the Anhad Shabd that manifests. That is why Kabir Sahib too has said:

"Jaap dies, ajapa dies, even Anhad dies away.

Without recognizing the Sar Shabd, one wanders again and again."

They say, until that Sar Shabd manifests by the Guru’s grace, the coming and going does not end.

That is why they say, brother, that Naam is a very lofty thing, about which Guru Nanak too has said:

"By Shabd the earth, by Shabd the heavens;

Through Shabd the Shabd blazed into light.

All creation follows in the wake of Shabd;

Nanak, the Shabd abides in every heart."

They say, that very Shabd which has created the whole world, that very Shabd is resounding in our tenth door. And the Guru joins us to that very Shabd. It has come from Satlok Sachkhand and rests here. They say, that very Shabd is what the Sants call Naam. So that Naam is something else, and these mantras and tantras are something else. That is why they say, without Satsang, our delusion does not go away. Because in Satsang the Mahatmas do not speak about the Vedas, Shastras, Puranas, and other scriptures. They explain to us about our own soul. The glory of the Guru, the glory of Naam, the glory of Satsang. They speak about the Lord; that is what is told in all Satsangs.

The purpose of this human body, how precious this human body is, why we have received it, what we were supposed to do with it, what we are doing: all this information is given in Satsang. When we come to know that this human body is very precious, that the Lord has given it for crossing the ocean of birth and death, when we have this knowledge, then we go to the Guru. If we have no knowledge, where would we go? That is why Satsang comes first. It is Satsang in which the knowledge of truth and untruth comes. In which all the information about Naam, about the Guru, about Satsang is received. And about the soul and the Lord too.

(Sant Mat Glossary, 2023)

We Are Souls From Above

Excerpted from, The Lord Becomes Your Friend and Helper, by Baba Somanath

"Wherever you worship the Lord, there He becomes

your friend and helper.

By Guru’s Grace, the Lord comes to dwell in your

mind; He cannot be obtained in any other way."

This is the bani of Guru Ram Das, the fourth Guru of the Sikhs. He says that the Lord’s help and grace flow to us according to the purpose, the concentration, and the love with which we offer our worship. What does Guru Ram Das tell us further? If anyone does the devotion with some ulterior motive, they will gain nothing. Once we are put on the True Path by the Guru, and when we worship the Lord with full faith and love, then:

"Wherever I look, I see the Merciful Lord

who is compassionate on the poor ones."

The Lord dwells within your heart, and wherever you may choose to sit in His remembrance, He will shower His grace upon you. You do not need to go to the jungles or other secluded places to find the Lord; He is the very support of this body. He is the Power that supports the entire creation.

So where should you look for Him? As long as you have the idea that you must go in search of Him, as long as you think He is something other than yourself, you will go on seeking Him and will remain separate from Him. As long as the feeling of duality is present, there can be no meeting between you and the Almighty Lord. The Guru unites you with Oneness. When He connects you with the one Sat Naam, He tells you how to do the contemplation; He explains all the practices to you. When you adopt this method, then you unite with the Shabd and become the form of Shabd. When you perform the meditation with faith, according to the Guru’s instruction, then, wherever you look, you will see only the Lord. (Your Name is Nectar, Volume One, Satsangs of Baba Somanath Ji)

The following is from Baba Ram Singh, excerpted from a January 9th, 2025 satsang discourse:

Up through Brahm *, we are all bound by our forms, by our bodies. Up through Brahm, there are bodies. We are not free till we are out of these bodies [the physical body and subtle body coverings]. And that can happen only if we go to Par Brahm **.

Here we have the physical form of five elements. In the astral, they have the astral body, and above that is the causal body.

The soul, when it came down from Sach Khand [*** True Eternal Timeless Spiritual Realm], was very pure. And when it came from Par Brahm inside, there was one covering cast upon it — one body— which is the causal body. Then when it came further down to the astral, the astral covering came upon it. Finally, from there, when it came in this world, the physical body covering came upon it. If we see a thousand-watt bulb, it has a very high degree of luminance. But then if we cover it with one sheet, that brightness reduces. Then we cover it with another sheet, the brightness will further reduce. After we cover it with a third sheet, finally it will become dark outside.

That is how the soul, when it came down through all of these planes, has reduced in its luminance, and it has now become dark. It is in this darkness. But as it progresses further up, as it ascends to go back to God Almighty, gradually the light starts emanating from it and it becomes brighter and brighter.

When the soul ascends up, it leaves the physical and goes into the astral. One body which was covering it is out — the physical. So, it starts its luminance. Then further, when it goes to Brahm, the astral body is also cast off. And above Brahm, when it goes to the Par Brahm, finally all these three bodies are cast off and it comes in its essence. It has the luminance of twelve suns. And there, when it goes to the Par Brahm, it is no longer a male and no longer a female. All the bodies, all the coverings it has, are shed off and it comes in its own true form.

So, only for the sake of karmas, the soul adorns these bodies as it comes into this world. Otherwise, it has no physical body or form.

The true form of the soul is that of Light and Sound. Likewise, the true form of the Satguru is also Light and Sound. And the true form of Sat Purush is also Light and Sound.

The soul is like a drop of water; and the Masters, are like the waves; and God Almighty is like the sea.

All these jivas are droplets of water from that ocean in Sach Khand. All have come from there.

The Masters say, "It is only out of that essence of God Almighty that all the souls have come in this world and have adorned this world." (Discourses of a Living Master, Volume 21)

NOTES

* Brahm, Brahmand: The Causal plane between And and Par Brahm; Lit. “Egg of Brahm” because of its egg-like shape;

** Par Brahm: First spiritual region above the three lower worlds of the Negative Power where the soul gets cleansed of all karmas and impressions by bathing in the Mansarovar, the Pool of Nectar; plane of true Self-Realization, recognizing the relationship of the soul with the Creator; the soul's light here equals twelve suns;

*** Sach Khand: Lit. “True and Imperishable Region”; the spiritual region above Bhanwar Gupha and below Alakh Lok, home of the Saints; also Sat Lok;

The Shape of the Soul - Light and Sound on The Path

The Shape of the Soul

Excerpted from a Satsang of Baba Ji [a spiritual discourse by Baba Ram Singh] "in which He spoke of the soul. He described it as spherical in shape, gesturing with His hands to show a sphere. He said of the color of the soul... Our soul is spherical in shape and pure white in color and has the light of twelve luminous suns. Through simran when we withdraw our focus from the body to the third eye we can experience the true power of the soul."

Long Version:

I had been emailing back and forth with Christopher before he went to India about a Satsang of Baba Ji in which He spoke of the soul. He described it as spherical in shape, gesturing with His hands to show a sphere. He then described the color of the soul. I thought He said blue. Christopher didn’t remember Baba Ji mentioning any color. I asked Christopher if he could ask Baba Ji about this when he went to see Him. He said I should tell Bernard my question about the color of the soul. He said he would give my question to Revati who would then ask Baba Ji.

Revati messaged Baba Ji’s answer to me. Her message isn’t in perfect English, but Baba Ji’s answer comes through clearly. This is what Revati wrote:

Dear David B.

I am Revati here. You have asked about the color of the soul to Bernard.

Our soul is spherical in shape and pure white in color and has the light of twelve luminous suns. Through simran when we withdraw our focus from the body to the third eye we can experience the true power of the soul. The soul's luminosity is reflected much like the moon's light in the outer world. By connecting with our soul we can help it into it's immense power.

Let me expand on this.

The Soul's Nature: Spherical Shape

The innocence and light completeness and infinity in the spiritual context.

Pure white color. White is often associated with purity and innocence and light. This could signify the souls' inherent purity and goodness, luminosity. Twelve suns might represent the soul's immense inner light power or spiritual energy.

Now I hope you might have been convinced about the color of the soul.

Radhaswamy with kind regards and love.

Simran, the Practice of Remembering God in a World of Forgetfulness

Simran, the Practice of Remembering God in a World of Forgetfulness

"Santmat is not some new doctrine or religion. It is very ancient. Even the Upanishads teach bindu-nada meditation. It is not only saints of this age who have spoken about it; sages of olden times also taught this. One should understand this and continue to practice it regularly." (Maharshi Mehi, Experiential Knowledge)

Simran: "Repetition of names or thoughts; in Sant Mat, the simran of worldly thoughts is controlled through the Simran of the Five Charged Names, repeated by an initiate throughout the day and when sitting for meditation as a means of collecting the thought currents at the Third Eye Center; also used as a password of sorts to higher planes and protection from Negative Power influences." (Sant Mat Glossary)

How to do Simran

"When simran of the Lord is carried out incessantly and with every breath of one’s life, it awakens one’s consciousness in the Lord. Simran of the name or names given by someone whose consciousness is awakened in God is highly beneficial because, through the medium of thought transference between master and disciple, fast success is assured. In this way the soul’s passage through the spiritual regions is expedited so it can cross those regions without hindrance.

"After assuming an easy posture, simran should be done by concentrating one’s attention between the eyebrows (which is the seat of the soul) and repeating the names with the tongue of the soul with an all-consuming absorption. Simran done in this manner overcomes the restlessness of the mind and results in a high degree of concentration." (Hazur Baba Sawan Singh, My Submission)

"Please concentrate your attention in the eyes [third eye center] when repeating the Holy Names. As your concentration becomes stronger many mysteries will become solved for you. As your soul having collected in the eyes turns inwards you will get more flashes of light and knowledge. Solitude brings peace and helps in spiritual progress." (Hazur Baba Sawan Singh)

"The repetition of the Five Names should be performed with love and affection, fixing the attention in the eyes without putting any pressure on them, and sitting in one posture as far as possible so that you become unconscious of the body below the eyes and thought does not run outside the focus of the eyes. When you sit to listen to the Sound, try to get pleasure out of it." (Hazur Baba Sawan Singh)

"The change of focus is done by constant practice and effort to rise up and fix and hold the attention at the higher centers. This is the underlying idea of the repetition of the Names. Each Name gives you an idea of something within you and above the eyes. Every time you repeat a Name attentively you are trying to rise up, and sooner or later the eye-focus will become the headquarters of your attention." (Hazur Baba Sawan Singh)

"When you begin to hear the bell sound clearly in the right direction, you may give up Simran (repetition of the Holy Names) and then connect your soul with the Sound again." (Hazur Baba Sawan Singh)

"When God Almighty showers His Grace, He sends the Saints to awaken such souls who have forgotten about God Almighty and who have lost their way in this world. The Saints come, and then They awaken the souls. They tell us about the Reality. And They try to enlighten us about what is the truth. And They try to get us out of this ocean of life and death.

"Then They show us the Path. They show us the practice of doing our Bhajan Simran. And by doing so, when we go within, They again manifest that Light and Sound within. And once that Holy Sound and Light is manifested within, the darkness of ignorance, or the darkness of this veil of Maya is cast aside. And again, the soul experiences and understands all its previous births and automatically develops that love and affection for the Master and goes within.

"Therefore, Saints come into this world only to take us from this home to our True Home. They don't come here to get us entangled again in this life and death.

"So, therefore, it is incumbent on us to listen to what They have to say and follow Their instructions and do our meditations every day. We should not get swayed by the color of this world, because the color of this world is not permanent. It is only there for a few days.

"We should, therefore, focus our energies to do our meditations, to listen to Satsang every day, and to keep our aim of going back to God Almighty in front of us." (Baba Ram Singh, excerpted from an August 2024 Satsang Discourse)

The Only Objective of the Masters is to Enlighten The Souls and Take Them Back to Their Father, by Baba Ram Singh

The Only Objective of the Masters is to Enlighten The Souls and Take Them Back to Their Father — to God Almighty — to Regain Their True Identity — Selections from January 2019 Satsang Discourses of Baba Ram Singh

"The Masters always see the soul and it is the soul that is the lost son of God Almighty. They always are worried about the soul and They come seeking the souls.

"It is the mind that makes the soul wander in this place and it is the mind that makes the jiva [soul] do all the things in this world. So, the burden of those karmas maligns the mind and the Masters always have Their sight on the soul.

"Masters, therefore, come because the soul is pure and They come to give salvation to the soul. Time and again, They are sent by God Almighty and They come to take all those souls who seek salvation and want to go back to God Almighty."

"After scores of lives, and tens of millions of lives, the opportunity of a human life is given to us. And, with the Grace of God Almighty, we get the company of the Masters. Tulsi Sahib also says, 'For everyone, to get the company of the Masters and to get Satsang is something which is very rare.'"

"He [Swami Ji Maharaj] says, 'You are badly entangled in this world. Having identified with the mind, you have acted upon and got entangled here in the company of the mind. And that is why you are stuck in this world.'

"Masters say, 'If you look around, you will see that there is no other enemy than your own mind.' This mind is an agent of Kal and the instructions of this mind are to be sure that the soul does not leave the compound of Kal.

"Today, the soul has forgotten its real identity and it has started identifying itself with this body. And because it identifies itself with this body, the mind is deluding the soul and keeping it entangled outside. So, the moment the soul leaves this body, there is no value to this body.

"He [Swami Ji Maharaj] says, 'You are the soul. You are, therefore, not the body. You are the driver of this body. And, if you are the soul, you do not belong here. You belong to your Oversoul, or God Almighty. And, therefore, you should now make efforts, having understood that you are the soul, you should make efforts with the instructions of the Master and you may go back to God Almighty.

"The Masters come to get the salvation for the soul. They come to enlighten the soul and show it the True Identity, show its own identity. By way of Satsangs, They explain to us as to who we are, why we are here, what is that we should be doing, and what is it that we are doing, and what is our True Home, and what is the effort we have to do to go back to our True Home.

"So, this reality of how we have lost our way. We have identified ourselves here in this world."

"Beyond Sach Khand, there are three planes — Alakh, Agam, and Anaami.” Swami Ji Maharaj has referred to Anaami as the place where all souls have come from and where God Almighty resides. So, all the souls have come from there. And till they go back to Anaami [The Nameless One], they will remain unsatisfied — till they go back to Anaami, to God Almighty. So, in this Bani [hymn], Swami Ji Maharaj has wonderfully explained where God Almighty resides, where all the souls have come from, and what is the Path to go back to that place. And, before that, He has told us — enlightened us — that we should all make efforts to go back to our True Home – to go back to God Almighty because we are all entangled here and have lost our identity in this world."

"So, we have had this great opportunity of this human life and we have also had the Grace of the God Almighty and have got initiated by a True Master. So, now, we should make the most of these precious moments and try to go within and go to heights within in this very life itself."

"The Varnatmak Naam, or the repetition of the Five Holy Names that are given — that ‘Naam’ — helps us to go within. With the help of that ‘Naam’, when we repeat it and we purify our mind, as the mind gets purified, we go within at the Eye Center. There, we manifest the true Sound Current and the true Naam. And that is the Naam that gets us salvation.

"Every day, you should try and practice Bhajan Simran [meditation]. You should practice your Simran. Do as much as possible of your Bhajan Simran. Try to sit in the morning in your respective homes.

"Now, if you cannot sit in the morning, find a suitable time and sit accordingly. But, every day, you should spend time to try and do this practice so that you able to try and leave your nine doors, which open outside, and come to the Tenth Door, which opens within.

"So, your effort is really to come within to the Eye Center and manifest the Sound Current. And, when you do that, then it is the Sound Current, which takes care of redeeming your karmas and takes you, from plane to plane, back to God Almighty."

Why We Begin Meditation at the Third Eye Center in Sant Mat… It’s the Seat of the Soul — Baba Ram Singh

Why We Begin Meditation at the Third Eye Center in Sant Mat… It’s the Seat of the Soul — Baba Ram Singh

When we sit for meditation, we close our eyes and then we focus our thoughts at the back of the Eye Center. And our faculty of visualization is also there, which also visualizes the Form of the Master within. And by doing Simran, we concentrate our attention and focus at the back of the Eye Center. Then, automatically, when we sit for meditation, our attention starts getting focused on the Form of a Master at the back of the Eye Center.

There are the rishis and munis who also do meditation. But their meditation and their focus and attention are slightly different. Instead of focusing at the back of the Eye Center, what they do is, they start focusing on the chakras.

So, in the physical body, we have six chakras. And starting from the lowest chakra, they start doing the mantra. Each chakra has a mantra, and what they do is, they repeat the mantras. And, when a certain number of times that mantra is done, tens of thousands of times, then that chakra opens up. And, that way, they start progressing by opening each of these chakras and going inside and up within their body. So, for them to take and open each of the six chakras and then the seventh above that and go up, inside, it takes a very, very long time.

Mahatmas say that when someone has to climb a mountain and he is midway, standing on the mountain, there is no point in going down to the bottom of the mountain and then climbing all the way up again. Instead, he should climb upwards from where he is.

The soul is currently situated at the back of the Eye Center. And, therefore, Saints say that you start from there. You start focusing there and focus your attention where the soul and the Master stay. That is at the back of the Eye Center.

Therefore, we should lovingly focus our attention and do the Simran and the Dhyan, that is, the contemplation of the Form of the Master while doing Simran at the back of the Eye Center. When we do this lovingly, we also start getting the Grace of the Master there.

Stages of Sant Mat, by Baba Ram Singh - Light and Sound on The Path

Stages of Sant Mat, by Baba Ram Singh

In Sant Mat, the first stage is that of Gurubhakti. Swami Ji Maharaj has said, “The first life is that of Gurubhakti. The second is of Naam. And the third is of salvation, Mukti Pad. And the fourth is Nij Dham, or our True Home."

So, first stage is that of Gurubhakti. And even if it takes us a full lifetime to do the Gurubhakti — that is, to manifest the Radiant Form of the Master within — then it is nothing. Because the Master-Guru, is connected inside with God Almighty.

God Almighty is Someone Whom we cannot fathom, Whom we cannot hear, or Whom we cannot see. And He is beyond description. So, Guru is the One Who is connected to that God Almighty. Because the Guru knows this world, He knows what is happening here, and He is also connected to God Almighty. So, He is aware of everything. And therefore, it is very important for us to take His help.

So, what then is Gurubhakti? Gurubhakti — the Masters say we should do three things. And the first is Satsang. That is, listen to the Master, listen to what He has to say, and He says that to awaken us. Second is to do the Bhajan Simran. And third, if we get the opportunity, then we should do seva. So, the Masters have told us to do these three things in the Kali Yuga.

By doing these three things, we get the pleasure of the Master. We are able to please the Master. And when we are able to please the Master and get His Grace, then we are able to manifest the Radiant Form of the Master within.

So, once we have manifested the Master, then the steamer — the steamship on which we have to go back to God Almighty – that starts.

Today also, we have the ship — which is the Naam — which is the Holy Sound Current and the Light. So, that ship is ready even today. But we have not manifested the captain of that ship. And once we do that, once we manifest the Radiant Form of the Master, then we will be able to board on that ship and go back to God Almighty.

So, He is aware of all of the planes within and He is aware of the Lords of all of these planes. So, when He takes us within, He gets us to meet the Lords of all of the planes, and He gradually takes the soul back to God Almighty, traveling through all the planes.

So, to please the Master, we have to listen to Satsang every day. We have to do our Bhajan Simran. And if possible, we have to do seva. By doing these things, we are able to get the pleasure of the Master and His Grace is upon us.

Masters also say, “If you are not able to do any other seva, you should do your Bhajan Simran.” And by doing this, we get the pleasure of the Master and His Grace.

So, when we do our Bhajan Simran, that is like doing seva of the Master. So, the Master considers that as a seva that you are doing for Him – though, in reality, that Bhajan Simran, we are doing for our own benefit. But the Master is so graceful that He considers that as a seva done to Him. And then, when we do this regularly, He also extends His Grace upon us.

So, when we do our Bhajan Simran — we do more and more of the Bhajan Simran every day — then we will definitely get successful on this Path. And, one day, we will all get the Grace of the Master, and we will be able to get inwardly focused.

* * *

The time is good and we should make the most of it. So, let us close our eyes and get connected to Bhajan Simran.

The Unpublished Letters of Kirpal Singh on Meditation Practice - Spiritual Awakening Radio Podcast

The Unpublished Letters of Kirpal Singh on Meditation Practice

Today I begin with a reading from the mystic verses of Sat Saheb, the initiating spiritual master of Sant Dariya Sahib. Sat Saheb was one of the earlier Sant Satgurus of the Sant Mat guru lineage living a couple of generations prior to the time of Sant Tulsi Sahib of Hathras. His mystic poetry is quite beautiful and composed in the style of the Anurag Sagar and other scriptures of the earlier Kabir-Sant Dharam Das line of masters. Then I share some letters from Sant Kirpal Singh on meditation practice. Those are quite wonderful, and helpful for the satsangi seeking to improve the quality of their meditation experience. Then there's a short discourse from Baba Somanath about becoming the "form of Truth" by focusing upon the teachings of the masters. In conclusion, two satsang discourses by Sant Ram Singh: having focused attention during simran practice that purifies the mind, and, about becoming a gurumukh following the instructions and guidance of the masters instead of being held captive by the limited thoughts of the mind, thus remaining a disciple controlled by the dictates of the mind, a manmukh. "Follow Their Teachings, overcome sorrow, and not only that, you will get the joy of going within. And you will also achieve the purpose for which you have been given this life." (Baba Ram Singh)
